Phillips - Lee - Monroe Counties in Eastern Arkansas
This marriage book overlaps with Marriage Book D for the years 1866-1877, as two books were used during this time, supposedly one for white persons and one for persons of color. As there were errors in recording, both white & black marriages are recorded in both books. In transcribing this book I have omitted those marriages which are clearly designated as "colored." For this reason a number of pages are omitted between p 1 & p 67. The last marriage is recorded in 1880, on page 273, with the balance of the book reserved for ministers' credentials.
