The 1830 U.S. Federal Census:
- Census Day was 1 June 1830.
- The fifth census included the states of Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi,
Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, and Virginia; the District of Columbia; and the territories of Arkansas, Michigan, and
Florida.
- The questionnaire provided space to tally many more categories than previous census.
