The 1810 U.S. Federal Census:
- Census Day was 6 August 1810.
- The third census included the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, and Virginia; the District of Columbia; and the territories of Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, and Orleans.
- The census collected the following information:
- City or township
- Name of the head of family
- Number of free white males
- under 10 years of age
- of 10 years but under 16 years
- of 16 years but under 26 years
- of 26 years but under 45 years
- 45 years and upward
- Number of free white females
- under 10 years of age
- of 10 years but under 16 years
- of 16 years but under 26 years
- of 26 years but under 45 years
- 45 years and upward
- Number of all other free persons
- Number of slaves
- Original census returns for the states of Georgia, New Jersey, Tennessee, the District of Columbia, and the territories of Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, and Louisiana were completely lost. Partial losses include Illinois Territory (all but Randolph County) and Ohio Territory (all but Washington County).
