Mr. Edward Simons, who has been a resident of this county for the last twenty years, died at his home in Clarendon on last Sunday morning, September 6, at 3 o'clock. The deceased had been an invalid for a year, in the grip of a disease which ulminated in paresis, the immediate cause of his death.

Mr. Simons came to this country in 1882 from Alabama. He married Miss Martha Wylie, whom, with three children, the survivors of a family of five, he leaves to mourn his death.

The deceased was 48 years old and a member of the Methodist Church. He was buried at Shady Grove Cemetery on Sunday afternoon. Revs. Fred Little and T. N. Hunt, pastors of the Methodist and Cumberland Presbyterian churches, officiating.
