John Rudy

Mr. John Rudy, the aged father of Mrs. W. S. Johnson of Henderson, Ky., and grandfather of Mrs. W. M. Neal, of this city, died last Wednesday at Henderson at the advanced age of 85 years. His wife, to whom he was married 61 years ago, preceded him eight days, and the old gentleman, though far on the road to dissolution, sank perceptibly faster after her death was announced to him. Mr. Rudy had been a farmer the greater part of his life, though he had made ventures in the mercantile line, and was accounted a very successful farmer. He was a man of the strongest convictions and of unsullied integrity, both in his private life and in his dealings with the world. It is to the credit of these good old people that they raised a large family, every member of which is an honored member of society.
