James Rankin

RANKIN: The death of James Rankin, which has been expected almost daily for several weeks.... occurred this morning at 3:30 o’clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Rayburn. The deceased was born and raised in Phillips county, being a son of the lamented Dr. John Rankin, who many years ago practiced his profession in Helena and also owned a drug store. James Rankin was the last of his father, father and mother, one brother and one sister having preceded him to the graves. His only remaining relatives here are Mrs. O. C. Rayburn and Mrs. E. E. Toney. .....He was forty-five years of age and had never been married, owning a plantation down on Old Town Island.
