Prominent Physician in Clarendon Dies

Clarendon — Dr. Nathan Edmond Murphey, practicing physician here since 1898, when he came here from his birthplace, Decatur, Ala., died suddenly at his home last night of a heart attack. Dr. Murphey was a graduate of the medical school of the University of Louisville (Kentucky). He was a member of the Masonic order, the Shrine and Knights Templar, steward in the Methodist Church, member of the American Medical Association and Southern Medical Society. Survivors include his widow, the former Miss Annie Louise Palmer of Missouri; a brother, James Murphey, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Houston, both of Decatur, Ala.; a nephew, Dr. M. F. Houston of Louisiana; two nieces, Mrs. Rufus Pearson and Miss Elizabeth Houston, both of Decatur. Miss June Wooten, Little Rock, is a sister of Mrs. Murphey.
