Chas. Meehan

Killing at Cotton Plant: City Marshal Henry Laney Shoots and Kills Chas. Meehan, Son of Prominent Citizen Last Sunday Night. On Sunday night at Cotton Plant, City Marshal Henry Laney shot and killed Chas. Muhan, The killing appears to have been another one of those terrible crimes chargeable to the whiskey traffic.... Meehan was the son of Chas. Meehan, an old and highly respected citizen in Cotton Plant and was apparently the wayward boy of the family. He figured in another sensational tragedy in Cotton Plant a few years ago when he shot and killed a young barber by the name of Moore. He avoided the penalty of the law in this case, being confined in the Arkansas Insane Asylum for some time. (September 25, 1914)
