Robert Longley

Mr. Robert Longley died at Lexa this morning of congestion. Mr. Longley was a son of Col. and Mrs. N. A. Longley and was born in Hayward County, Tenn., near Brownsville, but had been a resident of Phillips County for twenty years or more past; he was a merchant at Lexa and very widely and very popularly known. He was a straight forward man in whom his fellow men had confidence and he consequently had many friends. He was well known in Helena. Deceased was 47 years of age and unmarried. He leaves a mother, a sister, Mrs. Clarence Quarles, a brother, Mr. Leslie Longley who is traveling about some now, and when last heard from was in the capital of old Mexico. Attempts are being made to reach him by wire and the family will try to defer the funeral until he can be found. The interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Mr. Longley was a cousin of Mrs. R. C. Burke and Miss Ella Green.
