John Lindsey

We regret to chronicle the death of Mr. John Lindsey, which occurred at his residence in the north western part of this city yesterday evening about four o’clock. Mr. Lindsey had been in bad health for some time; but had been confined to his bed only since Thursday noon. He got in his buggy Thursday morning and drove several miles in the country, returning about noon perfectly exhausted. From that time he continued to grow worse, and at four o’clock Friday evening breathed his last. He was a conscientious christian man, and a leading member of the Methodist Church. For some time he conducted a meat market in Marianna and was an honest and up-right business man. He leaves a wife and three small children, two girls and a boy: a brother at Bentonville, Ark, and three sisters who reside in Tennessee; besides a host of friends and acquaintances. To the bereaved family the Courier extends condolence.
