George B. Lamar Death Claim From Maccabees

Maccabees Make Prompt Payment - W. A. Brown, record-keeper of the local lodge of Knights of the Maccabees, has just received a check for three thousand dollars from the Supreme Lodge in payment of the death claim of Geo. B. Lamar, who died on July 23. Had a guardian been appointed sooner for Mr. Lamar’s children, Mr. Brown say that the claim would have been allowed sooner than it was. There is no fraternal order, perhaps, that pays its death-claims more promptly than the Maccabees. Its head officials seem to be persons who attend strictly to business. The order is well conducted and is in first-class condition.
