Fred Kneatch

Died from the Burn: On Thursday of last week Fred Kneatch, a traveling German machinist who was employed at the Farrell Machine Shop caught fire and was seriously burned from the effects of which he died on Monday at the New Southern Hotel. Young Kneatch was evidently unacquainted with the danger of handling gasoline. He attempted to start a fire with it. An explosion occurred and instantly Kneatch was enveloped in flames. Before help could reach him he was horribly burned. The Cotton Belt crew succeeded in putting out the flames which threatened to destroy the shop.
