Bingley Polk Jackson

Bingley Polk Jackson - In the death of Mr. Bingley Polk Jackson at his home at Indian Bay Postoffice, this county, the community and the church sustain the loss of one of the oldest citizens, and one of the early settlers of Monroe County. Mr. Jackson came to Arkansas from Tennessee, and lived 56 years in the community of a well rounded out life, passing on to the better eternal world at 71 years of age. He reared a family of eight children, two having gone on before and four sons and two daughters, who with his wife survive him. His many noble qualities are well known - and as a Ruling Elder in the Valley Grove Presbyterian Church, to which office he was twice elected, the church will feel deeply his death. Two of his sons are in the army service of their country, and two bear office in the Presbyterian Church. His children rise up and call his memory blessed. [his remains were laid to rest in the Valley Grove Cemetery; Rev. J. H. Morrison conducted the services.]

[Note: according to grave stone, Bingley P. Jackson died June 23, 1918]
