Judge Hurley

DIED IN INDIANA - Judge Hurley, father of F. W. Hurley died at Crawfordsville, Ind., at the advanced age of 79 years. Judge George D. Hurley, father of Mr. F. W. Hurley of this city, and one of the most learned members of the Indiana Bar, died, after a prolonged illness, extending thro’ the past year. Judge Hurley was, for a number of years, the law partner of the celebrated Gen. Lew Wallace. Quite a number of the most prominent statesmen of national reputation have studied law under Judge Hurley, among them United States senators John Wilson of Washington and Thomas Patterson of Colorado. Judge Hurley leaves a wife and three children to mourn his death. The children are Mrs. Lucy Kanouse of Los Angeles, Cal., John W. Hurley of Crawfordsville, and Frank W. Hurley of this city. The funeral on Tuesday afternoon from the family residence in Crawfordsville was attended by a large concourse of friends. Rev. C. H. Wilson, a Presbyterian minister, officiated. Mr. F. W. Hurley and family of this city were in attendance.
