D. W. Grothe

Mrs. D. W. Grothe Dead - On Monday night the death summons came to Mrs. D. W. Grothe, one of Brinkley’s oldest citizens. Mrs. Grothe has been a sufferer for many years and about two weeks ago was taken with pneumonia. She was carefully nursed and given every attention possible but from the first seemed to realize that she was experiencing her last illness. She was conscious to the last. Mrs. Grothe was born in Philadelphia in 1852 and was married to Mr. Grothe in New Orleans in 1879. In 1883 they moved to Brinkley and have lived here ever since. She was a member of the Catholic church and the funeral was from that church Wednesday morning. Rev. Father Froitzheim officiating. Mrs. Grothe is survived by her husband and one daughter, Miss Minnie.
