Dr. James Walter Frazer

The friends and acquaintances of Dr. James Walter Frazer are respectfully invited to attend his funeral at the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. Saturday afternoon, March Second at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. E. C. Cargill, afficiating. Interment at Bateman Cemetery. (From his obituary it is determined that Dr. Frazer was born in 1826 in Antunga Co., AL, came to Clarendon in 1887, where he died on Friday, March 1, 1912.)


Source: Copied from a funeral notice or invitation which was printed on a white card or paper with a black border and was usually delivered to the homes of friends by a messenger wearing white gloves. The ladies carried handkerchiefs which were also white with a black border when they attended funerals.
