Mrs. Noah Foster

Obituary of Mrs. Noah Foster, 1903

Mrs. Foster Dead: We take from the items of the LaGrange correspondent of the Index the following notice of the death of one of the oldest and most highly esteemed ladies of that section. Mrs. Foster, the aged mother of Dr. Foster of this place, died at North Creek last Tuesday at the home of her son, Tom Foster, and was buried at this place on Wednesday, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. S. L. Cochran. Grandma Foster, as everybody called her, was nearly 88 years of age. Her husband, Noah Foster, died in 1897 at the age of 84. Both were natives of Georgia. Grandma Foster was a consistent member of the Methodist Church from her early youth and lived a pure and’spotless life, and died in the triumph of the Lord. She leaves to mourn her loss three sons and two daughters, Dr. G. F. Foster of LaGrange, Tom Foster of North Creek, David Foster of Sardis, Miss., Mrs. Parks of Little Rock and Mrs. Ruby of Lonoke. She leaves 35 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
