R. J. Cook

R. J. Cook ,born 12 Dec. 1820, died. 21 Jan 1896, moved to Helena in 1853 from Coahoma Co., Miss. with wife and three children. First wife was Martha Tollison, sister of Judge Tollison of Memphis. Children: Charley Cook died age 15; Mary Cook ,who married Joseph Stone, and died leaving a son who only survived a short time; and Sally Cook who is the wife of Hugh Martin. On 28 Feb. 1867 he married Orlean Rightor. Three children: Paul who works for the Treasury Dept. at Washington; Minerva R. Cook, wife of Walter H. Cotter of Marianna; and Richard J. Age 14, at home. Funeral at Methodist Church by Rev. M. B. Corrigan and Rev. H. C. Rosamond. Buried in Helena.
